All my life I have been very active. I grew up around boys, and I was always included in all their daily activities. My mother Barbara has been my main
motivator. She never put ties on my dreams, and that helped me tremendously throughout my life. I danced for thirteen years, competed in aerobics choreography for five, and ran marathon for seven. I
never stopped studying.
After I pursued my degree in Journalism and enjoyed working for four years in several Venezuelan newspapers, I decided to come to America. In 1996, I packed and came to Houston because I wanted
to obtain a Master's Degree. Journalism was my life at that time. I never got tired of working because it was my passion. Then, in 2003, while visiting my family during Thanksgiving
vacations, I was initiated into bodybuilding by chance. I never planned to do it, but I decide to give it a try. An acquaintance introduced me to his trainer. At that very moment, Fedder Marquez
recognized my potential and started guiding me through proper techniques and supplementations. This was all the motivation I needed to move forward to my first show in 2004.
I trained like there was no tomorrow. I practically lived at the gym before my first show. Four months later, I entered my competition winning the Overall.
From that point on I knew that I was destined to be a champion!!!
Since then, Fedder has helped me a great deal with encouragement and guidance from the beginning of my career, continuing into the present. He is my mentor, my friend, and my motivator. I value his
expertise because he has proven to me that he knows what it takes to be a winner. This knowledge has aided me in the structure of my physique, which he has come to know as well as I do. Almost
like a spiritual connection. It is this type of dedication that motivates me to strive for excellence.
I am open to trying new techniques and routines. If I see results, I take the best from it, if not I move on. I follow instructions of my trainer, but I have my own drive and expectations. I never
cheat, no matter what!
Bodybuilding has become an important part of my life, but I think life goes beyond that. Coming from a Latin culture, I can't live without dancing salsa, which is my other passion. I enjoyed going to
the movies, resting, sleeping, traveling, and sharing in laughter and joy of the people that I love the most: my mother, Barbara; my niece, Andrea; and my nephew, Nicolas in Venezuela.
It has been a challenge to strive and keep my mind and body in the zone during training for competitions, along with daily activities. This is why I have to thank God for the strength
that he gives me to stay focused on embracing and fulfilling my dreams while far from home.
The hardest part besides socializing has been the food. After any show I eat bread in all its forms, but from now on I am planning to have a DIVINE breakfast.
I have a lot of mottos, but my favorites ones are: "Never, Ever Give Up", "It is not over until is Over", and "God give me Strength". I want to give thanks to everyone who has contributed to my
success in a positive or negative way, be assured that it has impacted my life.
